Which printer should I buy?
This is a question we get asked all the time. We don't sell printers, but we do have many years of experience of supplying cartridges for them. Printers do vary and you need to have the right one to meet your specific needs. I am going to start off with looking at the home printer. Ask yourself the following questions:
Q: How often will I use the printer ?
A: Often/ Very Often: It's probably best to consider an Epson, Brother or Canon printer that takes seperate ink cartridges, as you will probably use quite alot of ink and the advantage of seperate ink tanks is you only replace the colour that has run out. Also you will find very good reliable compatibles for these machines.
A: Not very often, or very infrequently: You may want to consider printers that have the print-head on the actual cartridge, maybe a Hewlett Packard, Lexmark or some Canon machines. This is because if the print head dries up on a machine that only use ink tanks (the single ink tank machines as above) you will probably find it cheaper to replace the whole machine rather than just the cartridge. The disadvantages of these machines is that the cartridges are more expensive, but this may not be such an issue as you aren't using the machine to frequently.
Q: Will I be able to use compatibles?
A: If you go down the route of single ink tanks then we supply compatibles for all Epson, Brother and Canon printers. If you use our compatible ink cartridges then we guarantee our cartridges will not damage your machine, please see our T's+C's.
Q: Will I be able to refill my cartridge?
A: The best cartridges to refill are Hewlett Packard, as the electronic chips are far less troublesome, than the Canon PG40 / CLI-41, and Lexmark. Some of Lexmark's recent cartridges are electronically chipped so they only print for one fill and therefore making refilling them pointless as they do not work again, This is to try and limit you to buying their expensive orginal Lexmark cartridges. One way around this is to look at for different variations of cartridges, ie: the Lexmark 23 and 24, come in a variation of 23A and 24A, the Lexmark 28 and 29 cartridges come in the variation of 28A and 29A. These variations with A on the end do refill sucessfully.
